Multi-level hierarchical interface-based supervisory control

چکیده
Hierarchical Interface-Based Supervisory Control employs interfaces that allow properties of a monolithic system to be verified through local analysis. By avoiding the need to verify properties globally, significant computational savings can be achieved. In this paper we provide local requirements for a multi-level architecture employing command-pair type interfaces. This multilevel architecture allows for a greater reduction in complexity and improved reconfigurability over the two-level case that has been previously studied since it allows the global system to be partitioned into smaller modules. This paper also provides results for synthesizing supervisors in the multi-level architecture that are locally maximally permissive with respect to a given specification and set of interfaces.

Hierarchical interface-based supervisory control using the conflict preorder
Hierarchical Interface-Based Supervisory Control decomposes a large discrete event system into subsystems linked to each other by interfaces, facilitating the design of complex systems and the re-use of components. By ensuring that each subsystem satisfies its interface consistency conditions locally, it can be ensured that the complete system is controllable and nonblocking. The interface cons...
متن کاملSupervisory Control of Electric Power Transmission Networks
The methodology of discrete-event systems (DESs) and supervisory control is applied to a line-restoration problem, aiming to increase the steady-state security level of a power network during restoration. An example using the IEEE 14-bus system serves to demonstrate the potential of the DES formulation in the control of power networks, and to introduce the basic tools and techniques that this f...
متن کاملHierarchical supervisory control of discrete event systems based on H-observability
A hierarchical consistency problem for the hierarchical supervisory control of discrete event systems under partial observation is considered, since observability is a practical and general property in real systems. The notion of H-observability is introduced to ensure hierarchical consistency between lowand high-level systems, and an analytical framework for the hierarchical supervisory contro...

In this paper, the application of the Hierarchical Interface-based Supervisory Control method to controlling a large scale manufacturing example is presented adopting a layered organizational hierarchy of a factory. The generic and easily maintainable implementation using programmable logic controllers, a personal computer and TCP/IP over Ethernet for communication is explained in detail. To as...
متن کاملA State Aggregation Approach to Hierarchical Supervisory Control with Applications to a Transfer-line Example
We present a hierarchical control theory for supervisory automata based on state aggregation. Conditions are determined on state partitions which ensure that the control of transitions between blocks in a high level (i.e. aggregated) model, combined with local state-dependent controls, is eeective in the sense of achieving speciications given either for the high level model or for the low level...
